In India, many people with mental illness go without medication because they are too poor to afford it.

For a person with mental illness, medication can make the difference between living in despair or living with dignity - of functioning rather than barely existing.

Your contribution will help provide this much needed medication. It will give a person with mental illness a chance for a better future. We channel your contributions in the full amount (Yes, 100%) through the Schizophrenia Research Foundation of Chennai, India (SCARF), a non-profit hospital.

SCARF has achieved an international reputation as a leader in the treatment of mental illnesses SCARF uses a comprehensive approach of medication, therapy, work training, social skills training, and education of family members regarding mental illness and coping skills.

Many of the patients recover enough to hold down full time jobs and otherwise lead fairly normal lives.
